You don’t even realize how much growing babies do in the first year of life until you have one. If you really want to document your baby in all their main stages I highly reccomend doing 6 month portraits. That way you can get those adorable sitter portraits with the chunky thighs before they learn to crawl and run away!
Mom reached out originally to do a mini session during our Limited Edition Motherhood Series, but the timing didn’t work out. Instead we scheduled a regular 6 month portrait session to make sure we got that important milestone. I’m so happy we had the extra time, becuase we were able to do multiple outfit changes and different setups.
I was so excited when mom walked in because I had done baby’s newborn photos and I got to see how much he grew when he came in for the 6 month portraits! He was all smiles and squishy cheeks and chunky thighs, my fav! Yum!
Mom got her makeup done by Valerie Hammer so she was photo ready when she walked in. I always suggest getting your makeup done by a professional makeup artist so that your makeup is done beautifully without looked caked on or unatural. They can also make sure to highlight or contour in the proper way to help you look your best.
We started off with mom in a fancier dress to get some more dramtic posing before switching over to a casual dress and an adorble striped outfit for the little man. I love the new couch I got in the studio for a different type of posing. It also adds so much texture which is fabulous! I’m all about the texture when it comes to any and all sessions including 6 month portrait sessions. Which outfit combo do you prefer?
I love all the variety of looks that we got for these 6 month portraits. We got the gummy smile, the serious wide eyed stare, looking at mama, mama looking at him. Gosh I love them all! You know which is my absolute fav though? It’s the little tushy one! He’s so so cute!
