DMV Newborn Photographer | Rockville, Maryland
I was so excited when Mom reached out to me to tell me they wanted to hire me again! She had recently had her second baby and this was her second time using me as her DMV newborn photographer! I was so excited to see big sis, because it has been 3 years since I did her images and she got so big!!!
The key with older siblings is that as soon as they walk in the door, you calmly focus on them and not the baby. They want to be seen and made to feel special. Toddlers especially have a hard time with their place in the family being usurped and by making them the focus right away, it’s a lot easier to win them over!
As you all know from previous posts, sibling images are some of my favorite images to capture because they always come out so sweet! We started out with those images before moving into the family images. I’m sure you can imagine, 3 year olds have limited patience and we want to be able to let them chill out with toys on the side as soon as we can! I’m lucky as a DMV newborn photographer that there are so many great parks and places to eat nearby, so sometimes parents choose to have one step out with the toddler while the other parents stays with the baby to finish off the individual baby portraits.
After the sibling and family images we went into parent poses and finished off with baby alone images. For the parent poses we redid similar ones that we had done for the first baby so they now have “matching” images. Mom really wanted awake images of the baby so once we got all the sleepy poses done, we unwrapped the liitle guy and we got the most hilarious faces! Do you prefer the soft creamy backdrop or the dark moody one for the baby images?
As always, if you or someone you know is looking for a DMV newborn photographer you know where to go! I’m now booking session through December 2023! The sooner you call to book, the better chance you have of finding a spot on my calendar that works for you!
